Coffee talk: who do you perform for?

Many seem to think about performing as the ultimate goal. Others have been performing for awhile but rarely do we stop and ask the main question: why do we even perform? Then comes the question when we are on stage, who do we perform for? Many belly dancers don't know or can't answer the question because they have never stopped and asked the question... so who do you perform to when you are on stage?

Belly dance with veils: the veil figure eight

This is one of those basic veil moves that are easy to forget! and of course I did. I covered many basic veil moves and I just realized I did not cover the veil figure eight. So here is a little bit about how to do it. It's not a difficult move. You can do it one or two veils as I am doing here

enjoy :)

Belly dance coffee talk: beginner performers

Performing seems to be an ultimate goal for many students and it is looked at as the "ending" you must reach in the world of belly dancing! Let's say this first: learning belly dancing does NOT have to lead to performance. You can learn to dance for the love of dance and enjoy it.

Many professional performers would die to get their dancing passion back again. Performing could kill this passion because the focus is more on perfection, costumes, makeup, memorization ...etc rather than the emotional aspect of the dance which is what get us all started. Don't forget to LOVE performing if you want to perform.
